Statement of Intent

We aim for ambitious and aspirational delivery of a knowledge-rich, rigorous, and conceptual curriculum.

• Reading is key for purpose and power and prepares students for the future.
• Our curriculum is planned around key concepts of greed, desire, relationships, loss, power, and consequences.
• Our curriculum is clearly defined, ambitious, and cohesive. It is well-sequenced and structured to ensure that students know more and remember more over time, allowing them to become critical and creative thinkers.
• Our curriculum is inclusive, and we set high expectations for all students and for ourselves.
• Our curriculum builds on and consolidates students’ foundational knowledge of grammar and vocabulary: we read as writers and write as readers.
• Our curriculum contributes to students’ wider development, including their personal, social, and cultural understanding within our school’s contextual setting.
